Learn about the mission of the Florida Shindig as well as our expectations of attendees.
Florida Shindig Mission
* To glorify God in our fellowship with other followers of Jesus, creating an atmosphere of support and encouragement among believers.
* To edify each other, challenge one another in our faith journeys, hold each other accountable, learn, commiserate, share uplifting experiences, and help one another in our walk with Christ as we grow deeper in our spiritual understanding together.
* To grow and deepen new and existing friendships and personal relationships.
* To encourage and support like-minded Christian families and singles, recognizing the importance of connection and fellowship in our lives.
Expectations of Attendees
* To glorify God at all times through your words, actions, and interactions with other attendees, ensuring that our fellowship reflects the love and teachings of Christ.
To clarify and specify, this manifests through:
a. no profane language at any time, maintaining a respectful and uplifting environment
b. limited device usage to promote face-to-face communication and connection
c. no gossip, cliquish behavior, bullying, or taunting, so everyone can feel safe and included in our community.
* To attend morning worship and teaching each day (10:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.), engaging fully with the messages shared and the community assembled.
* To be on time for the daily worship and teaching (10:00 a.m.), fostering a spirit of punctuality and respect for the scheduled activities.
This is a God-honoring fellowship event, so please dress modestly, reflecting the values we hold dear.
Example: Refrain from bare shoulders, low-cut tops in the front and back, and short skirts to maintain an atmosphere of respect and dignity. Some dances require athletic moves, so please dress with appropriate undergarments. The dances are semi-formal, so dress accordingly to elevate the experience for all.
Recommended swim attire: shirts and shorts for men and women, which are suitable for engaging in water activities while being respectful to all attendees.
Expectations About Respect of Camp Facilities
* Please observe camp rules about quiet times before 7:00 a.m. and after 10:00 p.m., allowing everyone to rest and unwind after a day of activities.
* Please observe camp rules about building times (most buildings officially close at 12:00 a.m. or earlier) to ensure safety and security for all guests.
* Please treat camp facilities with respect (be good stewards and treat facilities like your own), as this reflects our commitment to the values we hold.
* Please leave camp facilities in the condition you found them (or even better).
Additional Individual Expectations
* Pick up after yourself (Throw away your trash, put away cups, and avoid having open drink cups to prevent spills) to help maintain a clean and pleasant environment for everyone.
* Refrain from potentially damaging activities in buildings (Outside sports played inside, running, jumping, etc.) to preserve the facilities for our collective use.
* Respect exhibitor tables (No sitting on them, leaving trash/cups, or running into them) as this allows vendors to comfortably present their materials.
* Respect the Florida Shindig registration area rules. Please no one except Florida Shindig staff behind the registration tables.
* Eat in the camp cafeteria only if you have paid in advance for the meals.
* Attend dances only if you are registered for Florida Shindig or registered/paid for the dance(s), ensuring that all participants are accounted for.
